Sex and The City: Carrie’s Wedding Dress

    Character Carrie Bradshaw
    Actor Sarah Jessica Parker
    Movie Sex and The City
Item Vivienne Westwood Fall 2007 Wedding Gown
Description For the wedding dress, they wanted something sort of a fairytale, as stated by Patrick in the Sex and the City book. This Vivienne Westwood dress had a lot of volume and that Cinderella quality to it. The costume department went through a lot of different gowns and styles, just like Sarah who tried out many; Rogers initially wanted Dior, Field fell head over heels for the white version of the Zac Posen dress, later on worn by Charlotte, in black. When she tried on the dress, Sarah loved it and also spotted a bird on the table alongside some vintage jewelry. While Sarah insisted for the bird to be part of the look, Patrick wasn't a fan. He was immediatelly sold though, when he saw Sarah with the make up look, veil, dress and bird, and her eyes looking back at him. The dress used was just one, named the hero dress, so it's the one wore by the actor and not a stunt double. For the outside scenes, though, the costume department did some small alteration on the inside to avoid the dress from dragging.
